Announcing Online Ordering for Retail
The ability to sell products online is the key to growth for many businesses around the world, but the importance of having the capability to do so has increased in recent weeks. The restrictions on movements put in place to limit the spread of COVID-19 have impacted a huge range of retail businesses who are reliant on footfall and in-store purchases.
At talech, we are aware of the challenges faced by small and medium-sized businesses and we have been working hard to launch features and functionality that will assist our customers.
We are pleased to announce the launch of talech Online Ordering for retail. If you are unable to open your real-world doors, you may be able to offer your products for sale online and enable fulfilment through customer pick-up. talech gives you a customizable, branded website where you can showcase your products to customers who can easily make purchases.
Furthermore, for our Standard and Premium customers who would like to add it, we are waiving our fees for Online Ordering through to the end of September 2020.

It also puts you in total control. You can easily change the appearance of your website and share the link with your customers and potential customers. Online Ordering connects seamlessly with your talech register, but also allows you to control the products that are available via Online Ordering along with managing the times when you are able to take online orders.
To activate talech Online Ordering on your account please follow these simple steps:
Log in to talech.com and click Settings:
Click the Online Ordering tab on the left navigation menu:
Click the enable button on the website:

Curbside Pickup (added July 2020)
To make the Online Ordering process even smoother, we have added Curbside Pickup to our Online Ordering feature. It makes things easier for both your customers and your staff. When customers place their orders, you will give them an estimated time for picking up their order and instructions for getting to a place where they can receive their purchase. Once the customer gets there, they can hit a button on their email to notify you that they have arrived and are ready to collect. Read this article to find out more about using Curbside Pickup.
A Better Checkout Experience (added August 2020)
Making it easier for customers to complete their purchase is always a good idea and our Online Ordering feature now includes an updated payments form which reduces the number of pages a customers needs to visit to complete a transaction. Find out more about our new checkout process here.

Website promotions via QR code:
You can now generate a QR code to promote your online ordering website by using our new Promote tool in your online ordering settings. Add this QR code to your social media, website or even print it off and add it to your shop window so your customers can order ahead or send it to a friend. Once scanned this QR code will bring them directly to your online ordering website!
You can now publish business announcements directly on your Online Ordering website quickly and concisely. This may help you to:
- Update customers on safety precautions
- Communicate changes in business opening hours
- Promote special offers and/or discounts
Stripe Integration with Online Ordering: talech customers can now use the Stripe payment gateway to process payments online. All you need to do is set up an account with Stripe and contact our support team with your Stripe credentials.
talech Discount and promotion codes:
Promote your latest menu items or offer your loyal customer value off their next purchase with our discount and promo code feature.
- Creates codes to post to your social media pages to promote your business
- Enable discount barcode/QR code for instore offers
- Codes can be redeemed online using our Online Ordering platform
